If you live in Melbourne Florida you know there is plenty to do here: you can go boating in one of our many lakes, the Indian River or the Atlantic Ocean : you can go shopping at the Melbourne Mall or in Historic Downtown : Or you can pop over to Kennedy Space Center or to the theme parks over at Disney. But only once per year can you enjoy the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Downtown Melbourne Florida.
Thousands of people line the streets and watch the parade go by every year as participants in the parade toss green necklaces and candy. If you live here and you have not done this event yet then I highly recommend you do so.
After the parade there are gatherings at local pubs like the Main Street Pub and of course Meg O’Malleys. Bag pipers play and dancing ensues all in the celebration of this Irish holiday.
The parade starts at 11:00 AM this year downtown Melbourne on March 17, 2013. You can park at the downtown parking garages, side streets, or just about anywhere you can fit your car. Have fun!
