spam email contact form problem

You can imagine how it would feel if someone came up to you in person and tried to sell you on a service that you personally do for for a living. Let’s say you own a landscaping business and a guy coms up to you, interrupts your work and tries to sell you on his landscaping services. That’s kind of how we feel when we get spam email telling us our website isn’t optimized and that they can optimize it for $99 a month.

First of all, if someone is optimizing your site for $99 a month they either aren’t doing any real work, or they are spamming links on your behalf. Either way you are getting ripped off. Secondly, our website couldn’t be more optimized. Optimizing is what we do all day, six days a week.

If you have a website then you have received the emails too. Even though you have a spam guard working on your site, these messages still get through. They either have a very intelligent bot spamming your site or they may be paying some poor soul $2 an hour in a foreign country to manually submit these things. After all, even Google reCaptcha isn’t 100% effective.

The bottom line on these emails and offers is that if the company is using unscrupulous methods like spamming your contact form, then they will not be effective (or moral) in their SEO efforts for your site.
