Melbourne is located in Brevard County Florida. Neither Brevard or Melbourne are known as huge party areas like Miami or even Tampa. But year-round warm weather, affordable living and miles of beachfront make for a perfect environment for many people, specifically people who enjoy a smaller, sleepier beach town atmosphere. But don’t get me wrong, there is plenty to do here.
In this article I will go over a few of the more popular activities and attractions in the Melbourne and Brevard County area.
Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge – Do you like nature? Hike the many acres of beautiful scenic land or drive on the Black Point Wildlife Drive. Check out manatees, birds, gators and many other forms of wild life.
Cocoa Beach Aerial Adventures – Go ziplining or rock-climbing right in Cocoa Beach. Try the obstacle challenge courses. All ages welcome and there are various levels of difficulty.
Brevard Zoo – Check out the many animals in the Brevard Zoo located in North Melbourne. Bullfrogs, Alligators, Boas, Eagles, Pythons, Tapirs, Monkeys, Macaws, Bobcats & Flamingos are just some of the many creatures you will find here.
Sebastian Inlet State Park – One of my favorite spots in the county. Drive over the bridge and check out the beautiful view of the inlet. Park and walk the pier. Enjoy the beautiful blue beaches. Or head to the west side of the inlet and rent a jet ski!
