Google, in its perpetual quest to find the best websites for their users, has announced they will be implementing a new facet to their algorithm. The new ranking signal is said to factor in user’s overall “user experience”.

This user experience will include the following factors:

  • Site Load Time
  • Interactivity
  • Security (HTTPS)
  • And guidelines as how to how intrusive ads or other non-content is

The folks over at Search Engine Journal have shared this particular graphic which may help explain things better:Google user experience

The bottom line is that web developers and site owners should be cognizant of what the user-experience is like for their website. Does it load fast? Can people find what they are looking for easily? Are they bombarded with ads? Popups?

The user experience is what every website should be about anyway so this change to Google search is welcomed by all white-hat SEO’s

The changes are not expected to be rolled into Google’s platform until 2021.
