In the world of search engine optimization, there are many tactics we use to achieve our end goal. Fresh unique content, website speed, & inbound linking are among these. Inbound linking, in particular, is a very important part of the overall strategy. Having links pointing to your website from external websites with high DA (domain authority) ranks up there, right under fresh unique content as far as importance.

A single high-quality link from a high DA website carries significant weight. For search engines like Google, it signals trust, relevance and authority. The inbound linking website should preferably contain subject matter similar to what is displayed on your website. The inbound hyperlink should use relevant keywords as well. But there are a few variations to this rule.

If the inbound link is featured on their homepage or one of their pages with a high PR (Page Rank), it is more valuable than a link from a low PR page on the same site. However, it is usually very difficult or very expensive to get on someone’s homepage. Inserting your link in an existing back page or on a new blog post will work fine.

So, will having more than one single link from a quality website help your SEO? The answer is yes and no, depending on the search engine. Additional links from the same high DA site can still be beneficial, but their incremental value diminishes. Search engines like Google tend to prioritize domain diversity in link profiles. In other words, the more domain names pointing to you the better. Multiple links from the same URL can be a plus, but link diversity should be your priority.

Subsequent links from the same domain may pass less authority, as search engines can sometimes consolidate the value of links from a single domain. It really depends on the search engine and their most recent algorithm update.
